Shifting seasons

By Jahnavi Ravishankar.

What I like the most:

Where u feel disconnected.

जैसे – “Wi-Fi Down”, “Blue Screen”, “Rainy Morning”।

Favourite lines from this book:

“You take that last swig;

Done tea leaves hang back.

Reluctantly, you put down your glass,

And take a final gulp.

Of the moment in time

When nothing is everything,

And everything is nothing.”

In English

After a long time, I read a poetry book. This poetry book is written by Jahnavi Ravishankar. It’s about the transition from summer to monsoon. And since it portrays Mumbai, you’ll like it even more if you’re based in Mumbai.

The poetry is written beautifully. It captures daily life and the little joys in it. I feel the author has expressed what she felt in a very beautiful way through poetry.

What I liked the most:

“Chai Time” was my favorite. And I also really liked “Little Things.”

Where I felt disconnected:

The poem “Auto Rickshaw” didn’t resonate with me as much.

The rest of the chapters all feel connected to you in some way or the other — like “Wi-Fi Down,” “Blue Screen,” and “Rainy Morning.”

Favorite lines from this book:

“You take that last swig;

Done tea leaves hang back.

Reluctantly, you put down your glass,

And take a final gulp.

Of the moment in time

When nothing is everything,

And everything is nothing.”
